Sensei Masatoshi Nakayama, one of the leading disciples of the founder of Karate, Gichin Funakoshi, and Chief Instructor of the JKA, was one of the most outstanding figures in the history and evolution of modern karate. A month before his death in April 1987 at the age of 74 years, Sensei Nakayama met at his home in Tokyo with Herráiz Salvador, in what would be his last interview in life. It reviewed the master key moments in the history of Karate in its life, in JKA and also spoke of his philosophy and the dangers to Karate by the excess and erroneous approach and competitive sports. Nakayama was undoubtedly the father of J.K.A. until his death and his disappearance, the organization was divided into two branches. Union disappeared with him.
